The Boston Red Sox recently bid $51.1 million to win the right to negotiate with Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. After winning the auction this week, the Red Sox have until midnight on Dec. 14 to agree to a deal with Matsuzaka and his agent, Scott Boras. Could swimming take a page from this book?
